There are various styles of letters seen in the Castle village in Seongbuk-dong. Though we can see letters in any towns we go, the characters seen in the Castle village are very extraordinary; we can feel the time and people from letters. I have restructured a poem, “Seongbuk-dong Dove” of Gwangsup Kim the poet with the letters I collected while wandering around every inch of the Castle village.
As I arranged the letters here and there for quite long, mountains and alley in the Castle village struck my head. I felt that the situation of the letters is similar to that of the village for the rocks of the castle were laid one upon another by every single person. Like little rocks gathered together to build the castle and towns built on top of mountains, the letters may congregate and make up the poem. I took apart the letters, which were divided by row and columns of the poem, and rearranged them like the castle and mountain. The poem is turned out to be the mountain, and the letters are turned out to be the houses.
